    John Heredia
John has been an artist at heart since a very young age by demonstrating an ability to render and draw creatively. At around 11 years of age he received his first drum set. While working towards his Bachelor's of Fine Art specializing in painting at Auburn University, he took photography as an elective three times as at the time there was no photography major.

After receiving his BFA he moved to Atlanta starting to assist commercial photographers, shooting models, and playing in an original indie-rock band. After relocating to Florida, weddings would become his main focus for photography. Music has also been remained a big part of his life as he still continues to play in several bands and has taught drums lessons as well.

My girlfriend is fond of sushi so I went in search of the treat. My goal was to photograph sushi in such a way that I could use the image for a birthday card in her honor. I found packaged sushi which presented a challenge as the plastic container reflected light. I contorted my body to get just the right shot. A strange sight for sure!

I like to wander around and find interesting things mother nature has created and bring them to my office/studio and photograph them. This is a picture of an intact dandelion that has gone to seed. Called a dandelion clock or puffball, the fragile structure makes for some fun photography. The dandelion clock was shot with a Nikon Z8 with a AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm macro lens. Both focus and exposure were set manually. Shutter speed was 1/125th of a second at f/16 with an ISO of 64. The day started with a bike ride down Haleakala, followed by lunch and hiking among volcanic cinder cones. The goal was to end the day taking sunset pictures from the summit, but apparently that was also the goal of far too many others. A short drive down from the summit offered this amazing view.Unfortunately the original image (a
